Columbus Crew Overcome Atlanta United In Classic To Set Up Semi-Final Date With Orlando City

Written by Patrick Echatah
The two-time MLS champion Crew will play Orlando City for a spot in the conference championship. In the other Eastern semifinal, top-seeded FC Cincinnati will play the Philadelphia Union, last year’s runners-up.
More Details
In the ninth minute of a frenetic encounter, Darlington Nagbe gave the Crew the lead by picking up a bad clearing, slicing into space, and hammering a low shot into the bottom corner.
Columbus doubled their lead in just eight minutes, and they did so spectacularly, with Danish defender Malte Amundsen hammering home a left-foot shot from more than 25 yards out.
The Crew was in full flow, and in the 33rd, Diego Rossi found Romanian Alexandru Matan on the right, and he blasted a diagonal shot past Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan to make it 3-0.
But Atlanta was not about to back down, and they answered once more, this time through Portuguese winger Xande Silva, who finished a beautiful cross from Lennon with a side-foot strike.
The Houston Dynamo, who defeated Real Salt Lake on Saturday, will play Sporting Kansas City in the Western Conference semifinals, while the Seattle Sounders will play Los Angeles FC, the reigning champions.

Inter Miami CF’s head coach, Gerardo “Tata” Martino, has declared that the Club is once again interested in bringing in former teammate Luis Suárez during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Martino stated that the team is still interested in signing the 36-year-old Uruguayan during a press conference the day before Miami’s final MLS home game, which ended in a 2-2 draw with Charlotte FC.
