Holders, Chelsea FC Women cruised into the semi-final of the FA Cup on Sunday after a 3-1 triumph over fellow English Women’s Super League (WSL) side, Reading.

Jessica Carter opened the scoring for the Blues in the 23rd minute off Guro Reiten’s assist at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Maren Mjelde doubled Emma Hayes’s side’s lead from the penalty spot in the 26th minute.

In the second half, Reiten made it 3-0 for the London side.

Sanne Troelsgaard reduced the deficit Reading in the 70th minute but it couldn’t prevent the holders from its way to the semi-final.

Up next for Chelsea is a clash with Champions League holders, Lyon in the quarter-final on Wednesday.

Manchester United also defeated Championship side, Lewes FC 3-1 to also make it to the last four.

Rhian Cleverley’s own goal gave United the lead in the eighth minute.

Vilde Boe Risa made it 2-0 in the 68th minute before Emily Kraft pulled a goal back for Lewes.
