In the 1-0 victory over Everton, Raya received his first start of the year after joining on loan from Brentford in the summer.

Since it is expected that this loan would last permanently, Ramsdale's position as first choice has become dubious since the introduction of the Spaniard.

Raya and Ramsdale would be alternated during the season, according to Arteta, who also hinted that goalkeeper substitutions might even be made in-game.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are both interested in Ramsdale's predicament and are "keeping up with developments amid a sense that Raya was likely to overtake the England international at some point this season."

While Chelsea is 'open to boosting their goalkeeping alternatives' despite signing Robert Sanchez from Brighton in the summer, Bayern is searching for a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer, who is 38 years old.
