Chelsea continue Havertz negotiations

Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen are still held up in negotiations for German attacker, Kai Havertz.

It is believed that the player is seriously pushing for a move to the London club and has gone as far as already agreeing personal terms with the club but Chelsea are yet to find an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen in order for the move to pull through.
Fabrizio Romano reports that there was contact between both clubs on Monday but there is distance between the asking price and what is being offered. The German club values Havertz at around 95-100 million Euros while Chelsea have offered around 75-80 million. The report further states that Chelsea may be willing to improve their bid by including a few add-ons .
Both clubs are expected to meet again soon as Chelsea become increasingly confident that they can reach an agreement with Bayer. The German club would like everything to be sorted out by the end of August.
Havertz has been in fantastic form for Bayer Levekusen in the 2019/20 season. The 21-year old attacking midfielder was the subject of a move to Manchester United in the past but Chelsea are now favorites to land him. His 18 goals and 9 assists were enough to lead Leverkusen to a fifth-place finish in the Bundesliga, Europa League quarterfinals and the final of the DFB Pokal where they lost to league champions, Bayern Munich.
A move to Stamford Bridge would make him Chelsea’s third signing this summer after securing the signatures of Ajax’s Moroccan winger, Hakim Ziyech and Leipzig striker, Timo Werner.
