After its 3-1 loss to Arsenal FC in the Women’s League Cup last Sunday, Chelsea FC returned to the English Women’s Super League on Wednesday with a 3-1 win over Brighton.

Guro Reiten put Emma Hayes’s side in the driving seat with a 12th-minute penalty.
Jessica Carter doubled the Blues’ lead in the 21st minute giving the host a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Johanna Rytting Kaneryd increased the lead to three in the 71st minute off Sam Kerr’s assist.

Danielle Carter reduced the deficit for Brighton but the London side hold on for a win which took it to the second position with 34 points after 13 games and an outstanding match.
