Since joining the Magpies in January 2022 from Lyon, the Brazil international has been playing for them in outstanding fashion, making 91 appearances across all competitions and tallying 13 goals and 12 assists.

In Sunday’s 3-2 Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest, Guimaraes scored twice to give Eddie Howe’s team a much-needed three points.

With 34 games played so far this season for Newcastle, the 26-year-old has managed three goals and six assists. His contract at St James’ Park runs through June 2028.

Nevertheless, there is still conjecture about a possible exit, with Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly having admirers.Although Guimaraes expressed his “great happiness” at Newcastle, he emphasised how crucial it is for the team to guarantee European football for the upcoming campaign.

“I’m happy here, in this club doing my best. I love the way the fans like me so I focus on my football and let the people speak.

“Sometimes (people speak about me leaving Newcastle). I’m very happy here, enjoy it a lot. I never felt so much love for the fans like here.

Jadon Sancho has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the 2023–24 campaign.

Two and a half years have passed since the England international permanently switched to the Red Devils, who paid £73 million for his services in the summer of 2021.

“Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has rejoined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season,” the Red Devils said in a statement. “The England international of 23 caps leaves with our best wishes for the remainder of this season.”
