Barcelona President Joan Laporta Opens Door For Potential PSG’s Contract Rebel Return As He Nears End Of Contract

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has opened up the door for a potential return of former talisman, Lionel Messi admitting that the door won’t be shut for a possible reunion with the PSG’s contract rebel as he nears the end of his stay in the French Capital at the end of the season.

The Qatari owned club undoubtedly wants his continuation with the team beyond the end of the season and has since offered Lionel Messi a contract extension which he hasn’t signed with reports that he’s unhappy in the French capital and that his family would prefer a move abroad to the MLS with David Beckham’s Inter Miami touted as a possible destination and a return to his former club, Barcelona also on the cards.
Barcelona players in recent times have publicly confessed their desire for the return of their former captain and legend with the likes of Jordi Alba, Araujo, Pedri all dreaming of his return when his contract ends with PSG.
And now, club president Laporta who sometimes back admitted there is interest in bringing Messi back to the Nou Camp, if a deal can be reached has come out again to reiterate his desire for his return despite the league leaders financial mess which forced him out in 2021.
Messi ended his 21-year association with Barcelona in 2021, moving to Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal amid Barca’s financial difficulties.
That deal comes to end this summer, and there is growing belief that Messi won’t extend his stay in Paris, meaning the World Cup winner will a free agent at the end of the season.

Sergio Aguero has claimed that there’s a high chance of Lionel Messi returning home to Barcelona this summer with the World Cup winner’s PSG contact expiring at the end of the season and his future still unclear after failing to sign an extension.
The 35-year-old has been heavily linked with moves to the MLS and David Beckham’s Inter Miami, as well as joining Cristiano Ronaldo by signing a lucrative deal to play in Saudi Arabia.
However, close friend Aguero has stated that he thinks Messi would find the temptation to return to the Nou Camp too hard to resist.

“I have to find a way to improve Messi’s current relationship with Barca’, he told Marca. ‘We’ll see, but he knows Barca’s door is always open to him.”
“Messi is the best player in the history of football. He has been the most important player in the history of Barca.”
“But, I have to be very careful with what I say, because he is a PSG player, and I have to have respect that.”
