More Details

The 16-year-old has already become a well-known name on the radar of Europe’s top clubs. Barcelona and Real Madrid seem set to duel for the signature of another Brazilian wonderkid following on from Vinicius Junior and Neymar Junior.

He has already visited the Santiago Bernabeu and also the Camp Nou earlier this year and Barcelona have now taken a step further by arranging a meeting with his agents.

According to Sport, this week there was a meeting with Endrick’s agents in Barcelona, after they were flown out from Sao Paulo. The purpose of the meeting was to communicate the club’s interest and try to establish a common ground for a deal.

Endrick has not yet debuted with Palmeiras, but has made the bench. This summer he signed his first professional contract with the club, with a €32m release clause embedded in it.

Barcelona’s plan is to sign Endrick next summer and he would then join the club in the summer of 2024, after he turns 18.

But they’re not the only club interested, but according to the same source, it is infact French giants, PSG who are the main competitor for the player, instead of Real Madrid. The Parisians are intent on increasing their presence and talent recruitment in South America.

Barcelona are said to be considering their options as the club seek to sign a player for their veteran midfielder, Sergio Busquets, who is said to be in his last season at the club.

Reports had emerged that the Blaugrana want to move quickly for Real Sociedad midfielder, Martin Zubimendi and now, according to Marca, the club is also considering Portuguese midfielder, Ruben Neves as another option.

Neves, who was linked with a move to Barcelona earlier in the summer, is represented by Jorge Mendes, who has an excellent relationship with Barcelona president, Joan Laporta.

But they will face competition for the Wolves midfielder from another English Premier League side, Liverpool, who are eyeing the player to rejuvenate their midfield.

Signing the player may not require much in terms of transfer fee, as the player would enter the final year of his contract with Wolves in 2023, hence, he will be available for a nominal fee if the club don’t want to lose him for free in 2024.
