Barcelona Edge Real Madrid In El-Classico, Extend Winning Streak To 58 Games

Spanish Champions, FC Barcelona pipped Real Madrid 1-0 to win the latest women’s El-Classico on Saturday extending its winning world record to 58 straight games.

Jonatan Giraldez’s side had won all its previous 57 league games heading into Saturday’s league encounter.
Real Madrid put up a superb defensive shift which denied the Catalan side goal-scoring chances.
As the game seemed destined for a draw that will end Barcelona’s winning run, Selma Paralluelo was fouled inside the box leading to a penalty for the Spanish Champions.
Fridolina Rolfo wrong-footed Real Madrid’s goalkeeper and slotted the spot kick into the bottom left corner for the winning goal.
The win extended Barcelona’s winning streak in the league to 58 games after loss to Atletico Madrid on February 2019, the defeat by the team.
Barcelona opened up a 13 points lead at the top of the log over Real Madrid.

Barcelona will now shift focus on next week’s UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) quarter-final return leg game with AS Roma.

The team pipped AS Roma 1-0 in Italy on Tuesday thanks to a goal from Paralluelo.
A win on aggregate over AS Roma at home will set up a semi-final clash with either Chelsea FC or holders, Lyon.
Chelsea also edged Lyon 1-0 in France in the first leg.
