Barcelona Cruise Past Roma Into Champions League Semi-Final

Spanish Champions, FC Barcelona thrashed AS Roma 5-1 to make it to its fifth straight UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final.

The 2020/2021 Champions defeated the Italian league leaders 1-0 last week in the first leg.
Fridolina Rolfo scored the first goal of the return leg in the 11th minute off an assist from Asisat Oshoala.
Mapi Leon doubled the lead for Jonatan Giraldez’s side in the 33rd minute with a wonderful strike from outside the box.
Rolfo made it 3-0 before the end of the first half as she tapped in her second goal of the game.
Oshoala finally find the back of the net for the Catalan side in the 46th minute as she tapped in Aitana Bonmati’s cross from the right wing.
Patricia Guijarro headed in Barcelona’s fifth goal before AS Roma reduced the deficit from a counter with Annamaria Serturini’s strike.
Barcelona progressed to the semi-final 6-1 on aggregate.

Barcelona awaits the winner of the Thursday semi-final clash between holders, Lyon and Chelsea FC.

Chelsea holds a 1-0 lead from the first leg in France to the return leg.
Lyon defeated Barcelona 3-1 in last season’s final which took place in Turin.
