While the club would prefer to sign Spanish striker, Ferran Torres, who plays for Manchester City, the English side would rather not sell him, but they have set a price tag for the player, which they expect Barcelona not to be able to reach.
According to Diario AS, the Citizens have set a price tag of about €80 to €70 million for the striker they bought from Valencia a year ago. As things stand, Barcelona are not going to be able to sign anyone in January due to their salary cap, but the board are working hard to free up Funds.
Despite the high fee being quoted, It’s claimed Barca are still interested in Torres, but unless City are interested in accepting some sort of player swap deal, Barca have little hope of landing him and would try to negotiate with the Citizens in order to reach a compromise.
The will of the player will be a deciding factor in any potential deal between the two clubs.
Meanwhile…
Barcelona are said to have set up a meeting with the agents of another of their transfer targets, Dani Olmo, to register their interest and block the player ahead of making a move in the nearest future.

Olmo was linked with a move to the Camp Nou in the summer transfer window, and they actually made contact with RB Leipzig amid the departure of their player, Iliax Moriba but due to the financial aspects involved, a deal couldn’t be reached before the transfer window shut down and the club are set to resume their interest for the Spanish winger, who is a product of the Barcelona academy (La Masia).
The Blaugrana are not yet sure whether they will be able to spend in January, or at least how much they can spend. With that in mind, Barca will make clear to Olmo’s representatives that their move for the forward could be as late as next summer.
The 23-year-old is under contract at Leipzig until 2023, and it’s thought the German club will demand upwards of €60million for him.
