LaLiga champions Barcelona can confirm that first team player Pedri has sustained a right quadriceps injury with the Spanish midfielder who played in both league games to date, against Getafe and Cádiz respectively unavailable for the next game by weekend.

He actually scored the blaugrana’s first competitive goal of the 23/24 season against the Andalusian side, when he broke the deadlock at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

The midfielder wasn’t part of Xavi Hernández’ squad who were back at work on Thursday morning for another training season at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales has been forced out following his offensive behaviour at the Women’s World Cup final after he sparked outrage when he kissed Spanish player Jenni Hermoso on the mouth as she collected her medal following the 1-0 win over England in Sydney.

Footage also emerged that showed Rubiales grabbing his crotch while standing near Queen Letizia of Spain and her 16-year-old daughter Princess Infanta Sofia.
