Arsenal To Lose William Saliba To PSG With Messi In A Bizarre Buy-loan deal Option Between Inter Miami And Barcelona

Written by Olaleye Oluwadamilola

According to report, Barcelona and Inter Miami could strike buy-and-loan deal for Lionel Messi which would see MLS outfit sign global superstar as a free agent before gifting him to the Catalan giants as Arsenal are left on their toes over contract extension discussion with William Saliba as he eyes PSG switch.

More Details

Arsenal have reportedly been shocked by demands made by William Saliba’s representatives in the defender’s ongoing contract talks, amid fears French champions Paris Saint-Germain could make a move for the star.

Saliba has only one year left on his current deal, after Arsenal triggered an extension earlier this season although the club have been in talks with Saliba’s representatives since before the World Cup, but no agreement has yet been reached.

The Gunners have reportedly been shocked demands from Saliba’s representatives, which are claimed to be nowhere near the £120,000 offer on the table but according to The Sun, Arsenal are prepared to treble the 22-year-old’s current £40,000-a-week wages to secure the defender’s long-term future.

Arsenal are claimed to be fearful that PSG could offer Saliba a higher offer to encourage him to sign for the French champions, with the club unwilling to risk losing him on a free next summer as he has not signed improved terms since arriving as a teenager in the summer of 2019 for £27millionbefore being loaned out to Marseille.

As reported by Mail Sport earlier this month, Arteta is confident Saliba will put pen to paper on fresh terms, but only when the time is right but if he eventually moves to France, his acclimatization to his surroundings wont be tough having played in Ligue and also being a France international.

Meanwhile…

A new report suggests that Inter Miami will sign Lionel Messi as a free agent before loaning the Argentine out to Barcelona with the future of the World Cup winner up in the air after it was confirmed that he will leave PSG at the end of the current season.

French outlet, L’Equipe have put out that they think Inter Miami and Barcelona will team up to create a buy-and-loan deal which would see the MLS team buy Messi before loaning him to the Catalan giants for 18 months.

It is thought the move would benefit Messi, who would be able to maintain a high level of football going into the 2024 Copa America, while also eventually weaving his way to MLS.

It may also solve some of the financial complications which have acted as potential stumbling blocks which might hinder Barcelona’s hopes to sign him directly.
