Alyssa Thompson is balancing playing for Angel City and the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) with being an 18-year-old thanks to guidance from her veteran teammates.

Players like Christen Press, Sydney Leroux, Julie Ertz, and Alie Riley have offered advice to the teenage phenom.
“All the players on my team have been super helpful with just trying to help me know what to expect with international play,” Thompson said.
Thompson is playing for her hometown team after the Los Angeles-based club selected her as the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft.
The forward leads Angel City with three goals in seven matches this season.

Thompson received her first USWNT call-up in October when the team traveled to Wembley Stadium to play England.
