Barçelona midfielder Alex Collado is set to leave the club for a move to Elche before the start of the new La Liga season.

More Details

The most recent report on the 23-year-old is provided by Catalunya Radio, which believes Elche has won the race to sign the Barcelona player.

Collado has also been linked to Olympiacos, Girona, and Celtic, but it appears he will remain in La Liga for the 2022–23 season.

Before Barcelona’s first match of the new season against Rayo Vallecano, Collado’s departure appears to be part of a hectic week of transfer activity.

While Martin Braithwaite and Samuel Umtiti are also wanted by Barcelona to leave, Nico Gonzalez is also expected to move to Valencia.

Additionally, the Catalans still need to register their new signings, which means additional funds will be needed if the newcomers are to make their debut against Rayo.

Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique are anticipated to lead the way in additional compensation cuts, but Barca may also need to use another financial lever.

Memphis Depay, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Frenkie de Jong are three other players whose futures are still the subject of speculation.

Nico Gonzalez looks set to be unveiled as a Valencia player very shortly after being given permission to miss Barcelona training on Wednesday.

The midfielder was spotted driving away from the club on Wednesday and was later met in Valencia by reporters where he offered a few words.

“I’m very happy,” he told Cope. “I have been very excited for a couple of days to get here.”
