The former West Ham United coach looked back at the FA Cup final held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
It is exactly sixteen years ago since Liverpool won their last FA Cup title in a penalty shootout victory over West Ham United coached by Alan Pardew.

Steven Gerrard was the inspiration behind the comeback victory that evening and never since then have Liverpool tasted victory in the oldest club competition.
The Hammers led by an enterprising Alan Pardew were on their way to a memorable win over the Merseyside club as they raced to a two goal lead in the opening thirty minutes of the encounter.
Djibril Cisse and Steven Gerrard restored parity for the Reds before Paul Konchesky fired West Ham back into the lead. With seconds to glory, the Hammers end saw their hearts broken with a Steven Gerrard masterclass from 35 yards and the Rafa Benitez side went on to win on penalties after Anton Ferdinand missed his kick.
The Liverpool team were reeling away in jubilation but captain Gerrard took the time to have a pep talk with the losing coach who still remembers and appreciates that gesture till today.
Pardew said according to the Mirror: “He was very humble to me after the game. He knew we had come so close. He came up to me and he wasn’t full of beans, jumping around. Nothing like that. He just said ‘it was our day and sorry for you guys’.
“I have always respected him for that. It takes a special person to do that after they have beaten you in a Cup final. He made a point of coming to me on the pitch, he walked over and said that to me and those moments, even in defeat, remain.
“There were only two words I could say — ‘thank you’. Then I added ‘go and enjoy your celebrations’. It was painful because we lost but not because of our performance.
“We did a great job, we were thirty seconds or so away from it. It would have been a game-changer for West Ham and me personally. I am still proud of the team that played that day.”
Both West Ham and Liverpool since then haven’t been able to win the FA Cup, the Merseyside club however have the opportunity to end that drought as they take on Chelsea later on Saturday in the final of the 2022 tournament.
Former Chelsea and Liverpool winger Joe Cole has predicted who he fills will win the FA Cup final today between the two sides.
The former England international appeared for Chelsea where he won several titles before joining Liverpool some years later.

Liverpool are the favorites for the trophy due to their fine run of form this season but Joe Cole is making a case for Chelsea to win the day albeit going with his heart rather than his head.
“I fancy Chelsea to win 1-0,” Cole told JOE. “Admittedly that’s my heart rather than my head because Liverpool look impenetrable at the moment. You see the way they’re playing, they’re such a great team. But I think Thomas Tuchel might have something up his sleeve for this game so I’m going for Chelsea.”
Both teams will be out to hurt each other in a replay of the Carabao Cup final which Liverpool won on penalties after a goalless draw.
