In what looks like a replay of the 2018 final in Kyiv where Real Madrid ran out 3-1 winners thanks to Karim Benzema profiting from a Loris Karius blunder and a Gareth Bale brace one of which was a gift from Karius.
No Salah was injured in the first half of thy encounter and was substituted early in the game after engaging in a duel with Sergio Ramos. That memory has got the Egyptian talking tough ahead of the final showdown as he’s bent on a revenge of that year’s final.
He said: “I’m very motivated, motivated through the roof, after what happened last time [2018 final] and Sunday – everyone is motivated for this. We fight for this and everyone is excited.”
Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro hit back at the attacker by saying he needs no extra motivation to play in the final.
‘For me personally that’s not extra motivation,’ he said at Real Madrid’s media day on Tuesday.
‘I don’t need any extra motivation to play in a Champions League final.
‘If that’s what Salah thinks, well, we respect that, but we’re not thinking about that. We’re thinking about our game.’
Federico Valverde is however not on same page as his teammate saying Salah’s comments are a disrespect to Real Madrid as a club.
He said to Marca: ‘Obviously they’re words that everyone can take however they want. I’m his opponent and it’s like disrespecting the Real Madrid badge, the players.
‘The only thing we must do is give our best, try to show why we’re in the final and let’s hope we can give another trophy to the fans and to Real Madrid.’
A tearful Salah left the pitch that night in Kyiv without being able to help his team through the duration.
Meanwhile…
Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr are both talking tough ahead of the Paris showdown.
Both players have been the driving force of the Real Madrid team with Benzema having scored fifteen goals to get them to this stage while Vini has combined well with the French international up top.

The Real Madrid winger is of the opinion that his side will come out top should they match the intensity of their opponents .
The Brazilian said: “Hopefully they play with all of them. We want an amazing match between two teams with all their players. With 100 per cent concentration. And both fighting for the most important thing, which is the Champions League.
“We watch a lot of Liverpool games. They are a great team with a lot of strength and a lot of intensity. If we match that against them… we will win for sure.”
Benzema meanwhile doesn’t see any changes in the Liverpool team from four years ago and sees his side going in to log the trophy.
“They’re very good,” he explained. “They haven’t changed much over the years. But in the end we have to look at our game. And if we do our thing, then what happens happens. I’m confident.”
