There has been uncertainty surrounding the future of Napoli star, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with top clubs said to be circling around the player, looking to poach him from the current Serie A champions in the summer.
But the Partenopei remain in a vantage position as the player still has a lengthy contract with the club, even if his salary doesn’t reflect his status as one of the most important member of the team, but that is about to change soon.
The agent of the player has revealed that there will be changes in the Georgian’s deal, when he signs an extension. Talk has been rife about the winger’s new deal and there has been talk about interest from other clubs as well.
The Partenopei have held talks about a renewal, which hasn’t been signed yet. and it remains to be seen when he signs a deal, as interest in him ramps up. Kvaratskhelia’s agent Mamuka Jugeli has been vocal about the situation of his client and he recently spoke to Georgian outlet Sport Imedi, and he was asked about the potential renewal of the winger.
He said: “I take this opportunity to say that there will be changes in his contract in the near future. Khvicha is an excellent form this year. He improved a lot at Napoli and compared to previous seasons, his performance is better. The player’s father Badri Kvaratskhelia, agrees with me.
He is more mature and plays like a star.” He further added. Kvaratskhelia had initially gone without a goal for about three months during the campaign but the Georgian has returned to form this season. The 22-year-old has made 11 appearances in the Serie A, racking up three goals and picking up four assists as well.
He has one assist in four Champions League games. According to information from Calcio e Finanza, the Italian champion pays striker Victor Osimhen the most with €4.5m Next in the ranking of the highest paid players are Piotr Zielnski and Stanislav Lobotka, whose salary is €3.5m per year.
Fourth on the list is defenseman Giovanni Di Lorenzo with a €3m salary. Kvaratskhelia is located on the 18-20th position. In one season, he earns about €1m which is one of the smallest salaries at Napoli.
Toronto FC winger Lorenzo Insigne is continuing to push Maurizio Sarri to secure a move to Lazio in January, reports suggest, seeking for a reunion with his former manager from his days in Italy with Napoli.
The 32-year-old Italian forward made the jump to the MLS last year after his contract expired with Napoli, and things initially started well in Toronto, where he scored six goals and provided two assists in his first 11 league games. Things have taken a downward turn this campaign; Insigne has only scored four goals and provided four assists in 19 MLS matches and has seemingly lost the backing of the fans.
He was recently seen showing the middle finger to some supporters in the stands. As reports, he initially offered himself to Sarri and Lazio, Insigne is now continuing to push for the move to the Italian capital.
Toronto would be willing to let the highly paid 32-year-old leave on a free transfer, whilst the winger has made it clear that he’d be willing to reduce his €10m net per season salary in order to push through the move. One key condition must be met for Insigne to arrive, however – veteran winger Pedro would need to leave.
