Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo said he was delighted with his side’s “determination and resilience” after reaching the AFCON final with a dramatic penalty shootout victory against South Africa.
Barely five days after a edging Angola in the round of 16 of the 2023 AFCON, Nigeria’s win in Bouaké on Wednesday, after a 1-1 stalemate, was music to the ears of their Kasımpaşa defender.
“We’re almost there, one more game to go, we stick to the instructions of the coach, we get our shape throughout the course of the game,” Omeruo said
Omeruo further gave credit to South Africa for putting up a formidable fight, he also wished them best of luck in their third-place match.
South Africa played well, kudos to them, I wish them all the best in their third place game.” Omeruo concluded.
