A deal to take Tottenham defender, Juan Foyth to La Liga side, Villarreal is in its final stages according to the reliable Fabrizio Romano.
The 22-year old Argentine professional defender joined Tottenham from Argentine club, Estudiantes in 2017 but has really struggled to hold on to a regular spot in the team.
It looked like Foyth would be joining newly promoted Premier League side, Leeds United earlier this summer after it was reported that Tottenham had received a bid from them that is believed to be worth around 25 million euros, but those reports quickly cooled off as nothing came out of them.
Romano now reports that Foyth is expected to join Villarreal soon as final details for a transfer are being sorted. The deal is reportedly an initial loan move for the 2020/21 season plus an option to make the move permanent for around 15 million euros.
Villarreal are expected to cover payment of the player’s entire salary and the move could be completed as soon as this weekend.
Foyth has found it hard to settle into life in North London with only a seventeen Premier League appearances to his name since he made his debut for Spurs in November, 2017.
